Anneke Swanson is an author, illustrator and an impressionistic oil painter.  She makes art in many mediums including gouache, watercolor, colored pencils, acrylic and oil. She loves to experiment with different techniques and color palettes.  Her absolute joy is to create art and stories with heart and depth. She loves to visually narrate life's sweet moments and strives to craft artwork that is relatable and accessible to children.

She also teaches art workshops to children and adults in many locations including her Austin studio, private venues and is a freelance art teacher at local schools in her area.   Her professional background is in elementary education where she taught Kindergarten-2nd grade, earning her degree from the University of Texas.

Anneke has taken part in professional development programs through The Writing Barn and the SCBWI for over a decade. She loves being a member of the illustrator group called the Girllustrators based in Austin, TX. When she is not creating, she loves spending time with her husband and two children, and traveling north to beautiful, cooler climates.

Making art is an act of worship and the process comes from a place of love, delight and enjoyment. Anneke’s goal is to create art and stories that bring life, joy and delight to the audience.
